When vodka becomes art
Top-shelf vodka is always a piece of art – that is pretty obvious to everyone, especially when speaking of the brand Absolut. And now thanks to the Absolut Slovak Art project even the bottles themselves have turned into pieces of art and look at them – they turned out to be absolutely unique! Merry, colorful and original. Just a few words to describe the all new limited edition Absolut bottles conceived within the Absolut Slovak Art project. Twelve artists have been given 5 Absolut bottles each to design them as they wished to. “All artists have been chosen from local “art sources“. “We primarily selected upcoming painters, illustrators and street artists with no special focus on whether they were well-established or less-known or whichever part of Slovakia they came from,“as the Brand Manager Zuzka Benková clarified as a side note on the selection process of the artists.
No boundaries had been set for the artists when it came to bottle design and they were more than happy to embark on the mission. The outcome impressed not only us, but the fans, too who are still more than welcome to regularly participate in the competition on the Absolut Facebook page to win one of the masterpieces. The demand for the extraordinary bottles is absolutely mind-blowing whether we are talking about fans or the media which keep writing about the project totally spontaneously. After all which vodka fan wouldn’t want to get their hands on one of these beauties as part of their collection. We sure as hell do.
„Each and every artist came up with a collection of five bottles. Three of them are meant for the fans who will get lucky enough to win them and we at Pernod Ricard are going to keep two of them just to take a stroll down memory lane whenever we want to remember this amazing project, “as Zuzka revealed and also added „We decided to get this project off the ground for our fans on social media, especially on Facebook with a clear intention to bring them an exclusive experience. We get asked a lot whether the bottles will be available at off-trade supermarkets, tooJ. We are absolutely stoked to hear that the popularity of the bottles is unabating; however the limited nature of the bottles further increases their originality which is also an essential part of art. Absolut and art go hand in hand so we will definitely keep engaging in cooperation with artists in the future within various projects.“
Those, down on their luck to win one of the original Slovak Absolut bottles in the Facebook competition, will get one more chance to grab them. We realize that taking pleasure in the two remaining bottles by every artist left at Pernod Ricard can’t be limited to us only; we are going to put one of them to auction at the end of the project. So in the end twelve bottles altogether are going to make their new owners as well as Slovak artists happy whom we are about to support with the money raised at the auction.
